Thanx Tony  , but the little lathe I have and the recently completed diy CNC machine it's mostly responsible for making things look like they do, far better than what they would have looked like had I done it by hand  :rotfl

Ok so I wasn't happy with the previous console which at the time was attempt no 2 or 3, so I redid the entire console and this is what the attempt after scrapping the previous turned out to be.

Then the foam shape (curve) was resin'd, but it did not harden or stiffen the foam as much as I was hoping, so I ripped that off and closed the large area on top with aluminium foil and poured PU foam into the underside of the console.

Took the foil off and started "free-hand" shaping the PU foam and got a rough shape. Applied a lightweight body-filler and sanded.
I kept on sanding into the foam below the filler and it became stupid silly applying more filler, sanding  and applying filler again and again and .... so I glassed the entire console with a thin weaved mat and then applied filler to the areas I needed to build up and to smooth it out more and that's is where I am at now, pic below.

I plan to glass over when the console if smoothed out, has perfectly mirrored opposing curves and the shape is 110%. Once this is done I will remove all the PU foam from the inside including the thin layer of glass and then bulk it up/reinforce the console from inside, fair and spray outside.

Found a Wonderful product called "peel-ply". Its a breathable fabric that soaks up excess resin and leaves the surfaces ready for either the next layer of glass or for primer/paint, little to no sanding required!!!!!!!

the last pic looks very rough and that's because it actually is, just applied filler and have not sanded that down at all, been to busy "Maaking a Plan" for the upcoming bass comp at the end of the week  :rotfl
