Dolphins in Durban Bay this am.

Check the vid out of a pod of dolphins at the yaacht mole in Durban harbour as we were heading out this morning. Close enough to touch.

weve seen them in the harbour, but never inside the marina itself - amongst the yachts.
there were large pods off umhlanga mid morning as well.

On our way back from Inhaca yesterday we saw dolphins quite close inshore in Maputo bay, right next to a local dhow laying a net for the keele shad. Must have been as close as 1.5 nm from Naval?

Always a good sight!

That is so cool! We caught a yellowfin tuna just off the northern breakwater near a pod of dolphins while catching livebait in July, my personal opinion is that we will soon see a tuna caught inside the harbour, they are often shadowing dolphin pods in the open ocean and I won't be suprised if the tuna are moving with the doplhins into the harbour area.... we'll wait and see

Could this be the result of the widening and deepening of the harbour mouth?

Hey Domz, maybe the same pod. Check that one with a bite out of her dorsal. Also in the vid. Unless they treat all their chicks like that.

Seen plenty in the wild but never any of them less than 1m away. Feeling privileged to have been there.

Awesome painting Gavin.
