Quick catch 186 FC
«

Hi Guys
I would like to know what you guys think of this boat. I am looking to buy one but I am worried about the weight of the boat, what will the total weight on the trailer be (plus-minus). I have to tow it a long way.
The model I am looking at has got 115hp EFI Mercury 4 on. Over powered but why not.
Thanx

They are nice boats. I had the Kosi cat sister with 90 HP Mercs and they were cheap on fuel. The boat is not very heavy I towed with a 3.2 D Pajero easily and it was easy to handle on the beach. For game fishing at Sodwana I used 40-50 Liters a day and marlin fishing average 75 liter a day. Nice dry boat and is safe in following sea. Go buy and enjoy! Tight lines.

No its not that one, but its pretty much the same. Are two 115hp engine not to big for these boats? I have seen some with only twin 60hp yammies on.

My only other concern is that its got a double axel trailer. I have never used them before. I have only heard that they can make live difficult on the sand.

double axle trailer make it difficult to push a boat by hand in tight spots and the trailer hight must be set for the tow vehicle other wise they are great for towing if you loose a wheel

Stephan just speak to the manufactorer and make sure those motors are not too heavy?? As it can negatively affect handling quite a bit if they are!

Suggest you post photos and all info on the motors here. A lot of knowledge on this site to help. If this is your first boat, make shure you do a lot of research on this boat. Boayancy certificate also very important. Motors may be too heavy. You may also want to list the price to see if you are in the correct price range.. A lot of good deals out there if you are willing to search and be patient. Big investment and this boat will be with you for a very long time. Good luck and remember to post pictures of your new boat.

Ask for a test ride (offer to pay for it) and take an experienced hand with you. Those engines sound bit on the heavy side, see how she lays in the water.

The boat and motors are both 2006 models, the motors have 105h and has never been beach launched. Its got all the bells and whistles. VHF and 29 meg. Boat and engine covers, spare props, fishfinder/gps, all safety. Is my second boat so know the basics what to look for. I am testing it tomorrow on the dam so exited.

Nothing wrong with that, engines don't look heavy and the boat looks quite big.
Congratulations wish you many happy and safe hours on her!

Good looking boat, that fishing deck seems to stretch for miles. All the best and may there be plenty of blood on that deck.

The deck space on this boat is amazing as is the power from those 2 motors. It feels huge, hopefully like the fish that will be caught!
thanks to all! I will try an post some more pics.
