WK would be happy to know that me and a pal caught 17 small fish (7 species) on very light tackle in Durban harbour yesterday. We fished for about 3 hours.
Grunter - 5
Soapy - 4
Natal Stumpy - 3
Thorn fish - 2
Sand gurnard - 1
Lizard fish - 1
Other unidentified - 1
Although we tried a variety of baits – all fish were caught on cracker.
We saw a garrick of about 80cm taken by one angler on live bait. We also noticed many anglers trolling – but could not see what they were pulling, nor did we notice anyone catching. But, by the number of boats pulling lures, it must be an effective way of fishing the harbour.
