Sea lice capture in KZN
« on: June 03, 2026, 08:29:41 PM »
It is stated that sea lice can be captured by hand or triangular trap in KZN. ( with a permit of course).
I want to find out what the size regulations are  for the trap  or Is it even necessary anymore to use the trap? Can another device be used like a hand sieve for example.

It is not stated the size of the trap but it says hand or triangular trap (so I do not think you can use any other method)

Use the net buddy, best way. Catching sealice by hand is hard work, even if they are cooperative.
Buy net from tackle shop. I can mention that in almost 50  years fising Natal coast, ive had very limited success with selice. Many others swear by them though
