Am report on our East Coast from Gonubie to Kei

Good afternoon Folks , DAMN these systems are soooo predictable at the moment and we once again lining up for a SOLID fishing weekend here on our East coast....


As you look at the synoptic , you can see at 12h00 today that smallish front just off of CT and that high hanging over our coast ...we are coming off of a cold front and the west has tapped off dramatically and the swell has picked up somewhat as that front slipped off to the south...


The barometer will be on the rise by this evening later and tomorrow morning will be a good window as well as Sunday...


Saturday sees you with a high tide at 06h14 and on Sunday at 06h48....


there will be a eastly swell running and the outgoing tide might be a tad slow...spots to look out for would be Cefane beach area as that tide runs out and Glengariff is a good option for the out and the push...


Swell might be a bit up for Haga and surrounds...


as that baro rises the wind will switch to light east on Saturday and then a tad stronger on Sunday ...


We coming off of a bright moon spring so the tidal diffrence in height will be about 0.6m to 1.2m

Good day Folks , trust your Friday is sailing along...


Everything on paper certainly looks the part as far as conditions go for actually hooking and landing fish this weekend...the water colour , temperature and even the weather systems are lining up very favourably  ...BUT...as we all know ...will the fish be at OUR spot ...THAT is the million dollar question....


As it stands on our East coat , the sea is a bit up and with a 10 to 14 foot swell running off shore that only brings a surge and a inshore washing machine ...


That being said , as Saturday approaches the swell should tap off quite a bit , especially towards Sunday in the AM...
Saturday finds you with a low tide at 07n12 and on Sunday at 08h15 , both early morning low tides and this bodes well for those looking for shad on the various points along our coast...
The water temp is around the 18 mark and super super clean , as we approach a dark moon spring , there is already a surge on the sea , so p-lease be aware of that when the tide turns on the dead low...


Well Folks , as these conditions play out the fish should be there....

Afternoon folks , we are moving towards a bright moon spring and this weekend its almost another neap tide weekend , with a high tide at 06h23 on Saturday and at 07h00 on Sunday ....as you look at the synoptics the wind will be pretty light this whole weekend along our coast ....


Its a light west from Sat AM through to Sunday around 17h00 when the west will come through quite stiff as those coastal lows make landfall...


the water is still clear and temp around the 18 mark...


Keep a look out for any surge as the inshore swell is running at between 3 to 6 foot...
