Golden Nile Perch
« on: May 30, 2020, 03:48:22 PM »
I wonder if anyone can help me with this...  Many years ago I remember reading a article in tight lines (I think)  about guys catching golden Nile perch in Lake Victoria...  Does anyone know anything about the golden Nile perch because there's nothing on the net... Even better does anyone maybe recall reading a similar article or even better still have the magazine?

Found something where they say it was introduced to "Lake Victoria and other water sheds"

I saw a movie on one of the DSTV channels about Jacob Wagner (I think  - the little polish blonde fishing guy) going there in search of one. I think he was successful.

No it's was literally yellow/gold instead of grey... If I'm not mistaken the guy who wrote the article was Charles Norman, I remember them attempting to catch the fish because they had heard rumours about it's existence...  And they proved the rumors true... But I don't think they a different species I think it's just a albino fish but I can't be too sure because it was about 20 years ago so my recollection is a bit vague
