Hi guys,

Can anyone recommend safe venues about an hour from JHB for general freshwater?

Hi Durran, what sort of fishing would you be doing?

Hi, its actually for a friends dad that is retired. I think general bait fishing for carp/muddies etc...

I would recommend rather driving an hour and a half to the Vaal Dam... You can try Bronkies as well but there is a lot of weed and watersports, so not ideal.

Lots of spots on the Vaal Dam, we often go to Tago, lots of fish there.
