Please advise how long does Carp dips and floaties last after they have been opened?

Thanks

Floaties normally loose their flavour after a couple of months.  Dips can realy last for a couple of years depending on the bottle,  glass or plastic.

Yeah I still have dips from 3 years a go (Glass) and they are still good, the plastic bottles dont last as long, but still good for a year pr two.

Floaties have lasted me anywhere between 3 months and a year before they lose their "flavour".

Thank for the reply. I have glass bottles and plastic ones. The dips in the plastic bottles still have alot of smell and looks fine. The floaties also have some smell, but they are about 2 years old. I guess I will have to toss them away.

What about the plain hard floaties? I assume they would still be fine?

The reason I'm asking is because I went fishing at footloose last week and I blanked. But the thing is only one carp was caught on fly. Nothing else. I assumed my baits are old.

Thanks

Theo

Hi Theo, if your floaties still have a scent on them they are fine. Footloose is a tough bank angling venue due to the high fishing pressure. Its easier to catch carp on fly and artificial there than on bait. Dont think you need to toss anything.
