I just want to reiterate that this report has spoilt my day.

 Viskoors of note!!

:happ: :happ: :crzy :crzy :craz:

I wonder if I ran away from life now for a week or two if I could come back and just carry on as if nothing happened.

Either I am fishing or dreaming of fishing!

M.H , we all can relate to that except i'd disappear for a couple of months .. :craz: :craz:  , Robin , if not a giant ray which can swim away like you not even there at the end of the line , then maybe Knysna got its own Lochness  monster, hiding away in the depths ..  :hyst: :dunno:

a 200kg+ Black pylie would certainly not feel you tugging on the other end... :hehe: I've heard and seen many such disturbances, especially at night,at Gouritzriver, those are usually 20kg to close to 100 pounder KOB smashing into mullets and smacking their tales on the water causing a loud noise, like cracking a whip.Sometimes it's big Leeries chasing mullets, just without as big a commotion...never seen a seal or  :stray: do that.On that tackle you would've stood a good chance of landing the kob,no matter how big,if it was one, which is highly unlikely.Well done on the catches though..good stuff :clwn

Great report and yes ....GREAT MYSTERY......

There are a lot of Raggie's and really big ones in the lagoon and a foul hooked one won't cut you off and takes line at will.  There are also Zmabies from time to time (we have caught them) and I have seen Big Black Pylies in the heads as well as really big Bronzies

We were using one large circle hook. I am sure that whatever it was picked it up and when he got bored spat it out.  :rck" We watched a shark swimming in the shallows against the tide in Grunter Alley two days prior. It swam slowly and exposed all three fins. (Tail and both dorsal fins)
