Ok, so it has taken me a whole month to give any type of feedback on the week and my only excuse( and a weak one I know ) is that there wasn't all that much to report
I only launched once, with the weather and issues at work keeping me firmly rooted behind the PC for the remainder of the week.
We launched from Ramsgate and after spending some time looking for livebait in all the wrong places I decided to take the ride out to protea and target some tuna just to open the account for the week.
We were a bit late to the party and by the time we arrived most of the boats had found a couple of fish and settled on a drift about midway between the north and south pinnacles.
With it being my first time fishing protea and not being all that adept at the whole chunking thing I decided to steer clear of the other boats and pull some lures while I was getting the lay of the land(reef).
We found some fish about 1km north of where the other boats were working and managed the get 5 to the boat and lost another three to sharks.
After the bite slowed down I sounded around and then did a few drifts over an area where there had been some good showings. Managed to get two more bites on the chunk with both getting taxed and a third pull on a whole fresh redeye that cut me off on the reef after fighting it for about 10-15 minutes

( suspect it might have been a kingie)
I want to really give a shout out to Bwana that helped me out with some good advice and marks for the area!
Pity we couldn't get around to it then but next time the

is on me!
Please excuse the poor quality of the pictures..
