A good spot is Mpunzi just north of Coffee Bay but you will need 4x4 to get there.  There are some nice scratching spots if you walk from the beach in front of the CB campsite to the stream in front of the backpackers (south along the beach).  HITW offers some good fishing spots (Hlongwane for sharks, but you will need a high clearance bakkie if dry, 4x4 if wet and a permit).  Black Rock, Ledges and Boulder Bay are not far to walk if you park your car in front of  the cottages on the left, as you come down the hill from the Coffee Bay side.  Queens is good shad fishing but it can be extremely filthy and pretty hairy especially if the sea is up. A good spot for bronze bream is in front of the cottages to the left of the hotel or walk south along the beach just below where you park to walk to Black rock.  The hole itself also offers some nice scratching if you can walk across the river onto the rocks at the hole.

I totally agree with tkei - the road after Vedgiesville is FOUL! Take your time - the potholes are mean!  You also need to watch the other cars as everyone is dodging potholes. Where will you guys be staying?

Thanks guys, so what you are saying is that there is no point if we do not have the right transport to get around? We dont want to fish right in front of CB, we want to fish the surrounding spots...

Might have to go back to the drawing board on this one J?

The owner of Sugarloaf has a 4x4 and will gladly get us to HITW or wherever.

There you go - no hassles about permits, getting lost etc etc  (clap)

Sorry I don't know the backpackers there at all WK -  there are a few - I have only been to the store on the right of the stream as you face the sea.

At 3am in the morning? Shew he's a kind fellow. Cause that's when you need to get going to catch fish in these areas. Be ready to cast as the sun comes up.

Thats what i was thinking.

Guys, think it through... its not around the corner... and costly to get to...
an area like this needs time to explore...

My advise, do a trip somewhere else for now, and plan a transkei trip properly... with a vehicle that can take you where you need to get to... heck, I may even join !
:hehe:
