West Coast Fish Species.
« on: June 10, 2019, 03:36:29 pm »
Good day all.
To relocate to St Helena bay soon for my long awaited pension.
I want to know what species of edible fish can I be expecting to catch from the rocks, gullies and surf on the West Coast  :dunno:
I know the species is much greater in number from False Bay, South and up the East Coast. I also know SIZE does not really matter in the WC.
I will be angling from Langebaan to Port Nolloth. I know there is Hotties and Galjoen and that is about it.
Need the info to prepare myself and my tackle box.
Cheers

Howzit Colin .

You are correct mainly hotties , galjoen if your lucky and sandies .

Langebaan produces some other edibles , white stump , kob large elf ,but itís not easy fishing .

Gaanzekraal , produces kob , certain time of the year .
