I understand that triple hooks may catch more fish but do more damage.
A tackle shop recommended using two hooks. As per attached photos
Or should I simply use a single hook?

That kind of double hook set up will cost you many lost fish, I do not recommend you use that if you want solid hook ups. Best to stay with a treble or single hook.

What is the recommended KP size reel for a bait pole for livebait off the boat? 6 inch work the best?

I can say that you have deep water, so baitfishing & spinning for snoek will produce.


Am also eager to hear what is caught at the point, & a word of caution now recently is to be "wide & open eyed when fishing there alone or 2.
