So I've decided that Sunday will be spend at the dam. Friends family and a whole lotta fun.
Where do you guys Suggest I go between these 2 dams.
Will target everything. Hehehe pap gooi, wurm gooi en vleis gooi! :-)
Also would love some kurper on my light tackle.
Where can one get Maroek? Only going for C&R. Dont eat mud :cnfzd

In my opinion Roodeplaat is great. If you go down Kammeldrift road you will reach the gate of the southern side of the dam, good Kurper there,if they're still biting??? Nice lawns and ablution for the family.

Roodeplaat gets my vote.
You can get Maroek at Fishing Pro Shop (and probably others as well)
This cold spell might have affected the kurpers - good luck and keep us posted

Maybe good news! Just came back from my buddy's house, He caught six Kurpers last weekend about 900g.

Haven't been to Roodeplaat in ages, but I think you will struggle to find a spot at Rietvlei over the long weekend and the fishing there is tough anyway.

How is the bass fishing at Roodeplaat? I'm thinking of testing my new boat there this weekend...

If you drive East (toward Cullinan) on Zambesi Drive past the moloto road and past the shopping centre you will come to a 4way stop, turn left there. This road ends at the Gate of the southern side of the Dam. There is another Resort whos gate is on the left about 50 meters before but they are expensive.
I hear there are some nice Bass there but I have neither seen or caught any myself. There are cables with buoys which will limit your options for fishing if you have a motorised boat.
The entrance fee is R25 or R15 for pensioners.R50 per car and R40 for small boat (Unmotorised) Larger boats can only be used through the main gate at Moloto Road.

So Sunday 5:30 I was right and ready. Car fully loaded, beers, vleis, mielie bomme, maroek the whole worx! Arrived at the gate. The guard tunes me, Eish Mnr, this place she's full! Drove through to the end and back not a place for a mouse! So called the fam and friends and we had to call it off. But going this Saturday to rust de winter, :happ: think there is a good chance that we will own it. Everybody is on long weekend blues. :hehe:
