Post by: swartw on January 17, 2012, 10:57:26 AM
Hi All.
We are looking to go through to Roodeplaat this weekend but need to know if its worth it.
If anyone has been there resently, Im wondering how the Hiasinte is currently? Can one fish there without too much fuss?

Thanks,

Appreciate the help

The hyacinth is only about 1 meter from the side .It doesn't seem to be a problem at all. :tite

The Hyacinth is not too much of a problem.

Was there boating in Oct and the water was quite clean and clear, however by December the algae was in full bloom and the water like pea soup. The algae must be real bad by now.

I fished there on 16 December and there were no issues with Hyacinth (only trebles  ), but there were signs of hyacinth growth.

Also a lot of grass near the shore line that was giving the guys trouble.

It is a month ago, so things might have changed, but it should be ok
