Hi Guys
The Mynmanne fishing comp entries have open 1 September. 13 teams have already enetered. Dates for comp is 13-17 February next year. This is the best comp of all comps to do. Strandloper teams, boats, jetskis everybody is catered for. This is the ideal comp for a guy who wants to do his first offshore comp as it is very social and fairly cheap to do if you compare it to the other comps. Will you be fishing the SADSAA Billfish Classic too? It is from the 21st of February next year. I'm quite keen on both, and maybe even the provincials, for which is directly after.

I am still between two minds for doing the SADSAA. I will be able to make final decision only around January. Nico your life are certainly sorted out lekker to intend doing so much fishing. I might join you soon for Franco must get his act together I want now two weeks of fishing a month and not only one week a month. HA! HA! Got your blackmagic harness from Ganis and Greg will get it to you soon.

Agree with Big Van, think UA is now substantially established and organised with some of the best R&S anglers in the country (and ski-boaters too of course!) to enter a "social" UA R&S team fishing under the UA banner.
Just think the publicity and exposure should they do well or even win! Collectively think that amongst the R&S guys it will be possible to raise some sponsorship for such an event.

Hi Andries the cheapest way is to camp. The security is normally jacked up for the comp but not gaurenteed as you know. We normally stay at the Coral Divers dive camp as they have different accommodation options available. You can also eat at the restaurant if you tired or do self catering. Safety is fine. Check out their website www.coraldivers (http://www.coraldivers) .co.za
There is also other accommodation like log cabins, Mstweni Lodge and other lodges around Sodwana area.

Prizes for most of entries and the value so far estimated at R600K and not all sponsors are in yet.

The amount of entries are increasing by the day. The boat entries has a maximum number allowed of 80. It is close there.
Boats entered -70, Jetskis - 5 and Strandloper teams -17
Prices been sponsored stand at R600 K. Whats nice is that this will be distributed into most of the teams and not only the winner takes all.

Hi Andries for sure will we keep you some bait if we can get them. Where are you guys buying sardines from as we need 20 x 2 kg boxes sardine. I know ADCAN Marine supply some shops in JBurg sardines please let us know if you can get some.

Spoke to the organiser this past weekend. The entries are extreme. He asked that we must not worry about the website entries as they want to keep it low for if maybe Parksboard check the site. They are only allowed 80 boats but the entries are 98 boats and strandloper teams are 29. THis will certainly the biggest comp ever for the Mynmanne. I can see that we will have to get up earlier to try and launch before 6 in the morning. All our fishing rigs are finally sorted, boat will be delivered after repairs at Hluhluwe on Wednesday. So all systems go!!!!

I ve learned a good lesson. First you need some fishing luck, then do not put any pressure on yourself and just enjoy the comp. If you do well is it a bargain. Did comp last year where I had the best crew and etc. comp was win a week before the comp and we failled dismally. So now I go back to fish for fun and enjoy.

Small question... Why are they allowing more boats to register over the legal number? Surely the parkies will notice this?

Hi Marcos the legal number is 80 but more boats may be launched at Sodwana. So the numbers of boats launched at Sodwana doesnt matter but they do not want to propagate that they have exceeded the legal number for the comp. It is difficult for the organisers as it is the 40 th year and they do not want to show entries away. They will certainly sort it out with the Parksboard as they will be the main benificiary of the comp.

I just fear how big the winning margin in this category will be as our woman have not permitted us to be alone together for more than 30 minutes in the last 20 years - Now it will be 7 days. :happ:

Tackle is made up and serviced. Lures are fine tuned and new hooks. Bait are organised and Shaggy got some lovely Walla's in Durbs and some nice mackies. All we need now is time to fly by and get onto the water and fish!!

I know the following guys are fishing, Luan from Lydenburg but do not know on which boat, Ricus and his brothers on there new 7m Cobracat from Witbank. Sarel is doing a charter for the comp on his boat Backline. Sarel is in my books definately a top ten to top five boat. He was a top ten at the OET and Billfish 15000 comp. We are the outside chancers. HE!HE!HE!

So i am the victim of bad planning!!!!! i over booked mynmanne trip with a trip to mili , i paid up fully so commited myself...
Last week i got offered 2 skip a mines boat, as there skipper dropped them.... bad timing.... but id rather be at mili than work...
Now i grew up at the comp, my old man is the chairman and has been involved with the comp for 20 years ( he will be going plenty of the speeches)... anyway, im am sad to miss it...
On a good note, spoke to jannie nel today , and he says fishing is picking up.. got 6 cuta the other day and got 12 today, so things look great...
Gonna be a good 1!!! enjoy buggers

I would really love to fish this year but I'm fishing the Marlin Inter Club at Richardsbay and the the Sadsaa Billfish.
But I will be attening Mynmanne from the Wednessday for some

I dont normally like to say on these open forums as it tends to attract a host of wanton woman to my quarters :merm and I dont get a lot of sleep, and its sometimes not nice having to deny some of them because I have a tournament to win, and the :+ :hbag can be a bit of putting.
