Title: Wawielpark
Post by: Vandewes on August 08, 2011, 08:15:16 PM
Went to Wawielpark for some fishing  on the 4th of august  to 7th of august!

Fantastic place to go and relax for a weekend but did not have any luck with the fishing! Thursday at around 10pm Got my first hook up but unfortunately the hook bend and the fish came off as it was my own fault for buying rigs and not folding them myself, friday morning I had a run as I was re-baiting another rod and was too slow to the rod and the round about 11am the wind picked up and made fishing horrible as you can not cast or see if a fish is biting.  After this we did not have another byte and the weather changed dramatically  but i would  go back  in the summer!

What I used was

Sweet dough
Tcp
perdeby
Worms
and sweet fruits

And I recommend that you take a canoe or bait boat to get your bait to the other as it is very shallow on your side for approximately  70 meters and then drops off to10ft plus!

Hope this helps somebody and enjoy!

I haven't been to Wawiel myself, but I have heard that there are some nice spots fror f/f too.
Are there any rapids, glides or riffles there?

There's some nice rapids in front of the chalets but did not see anyone fly fishing but I am sure you will be able to!

Will put that venue into the "bank".Dirt road wise it's only 20 - 30 k's from Oord Nebo, Woelwaters, and Skandanavia Drif Motel.  w;k
