Title: Millstream Farm - Dullstroom
Post by: WalkersKiller on April 21, 2011, 10:09:56 AM
I have been lucky enough to visit this beautiful place a couple times a year since ive been a lighty!

Millstream Farm is a 408 hectare property 5 kilometers before the town of Dullstroom coming from the Witbank side. This is where I first learned how to fish and where I caught my first fish at the age of 9.

There is a massive weir system with 11+ weirs that are fed by a natural spring. Then there are about 8 big dams and 2 very big man made lakes that are also fed by the stream that feeds the weirs. This is strictly a fly fishing area that holds superb amounts of Rainbow Trout. Brown Trout are stocked in 3 of the dams and there are a few golden trout as well. Lots of Kurper but have not seen anyone land one yet...

The accomodation is brilliant and is an RCI resort. The biggest Rainbow Trout I have caught here was 2.4 kgs but I have seen some 3kg + monsters come out of these dams. The fish are all in superb condition and all test your fly tackle to the max!

Millstream Farm is a great place for a family weekend and while you are fishing there are many other facilities available such as a game room, tennis court, horse riding, game and bird watching, hikes and a kids play room... As well as a lounge area where DSTV is available.
