Seriously considering going to the knife and get it done. I'm 43, got 3 kids and I'm done in that department. Wife doesn't get along with the pill and honestly I hate rubbers (no matter the colour, taste or shape). I'm a bait kind of guy w;k
Read a lot about it but would like to hear first hand experience. So, who has done it? Costs? What to expect apart from the typical info (30-40 min procedure, local anesthetics, one week recovery, etc)....
Let's hear it boys!!!

What do they taste like Bud ? :hyst: :hyst: :hyst:

I got snipped a long time ago... 10+ years ago. It was really plain sailing, that is, besides having a male Urologist fondling your nuts! I had mine done under conscious sedation, so you're awake during the procedure. Mild discomfort and healing absolutely no problem. It's called a Vasectomy, for those who don't know... ja the BIG V!
Birth control pills, loop, diaphragm etc etc play havoc with a woman's hormones and body - with all sorts of complications and side effects, like growing moustaches and stuff! :hehe:
I highly recommend it if you're not planning on having any more kids - your wife will love you for doing it.
Would however, also highly recommend finding a female Urologist... :rotfl :rotfl

Had the snip 30 years ago , almost painless and home the same morning. BUT 3 days later got clever and pushed a caravan , the result was avocado sized testicles for a few days. Impressive but best avoided .I would do it again , not the caravan , just dont take a chance because you feel so good . :toppie:

You guys crack me up :hyst:
@Mike only tried plain... but heard there's strawberry, banana and bubblegum.... bloody hell hate them all!!!

Really not much to add except that you can expect rather hard and painful lumps in your sack where they cut and tied. They start small and get bigger and bigger and more sensative until they go away after about 3 or 4 months. It's basically a build up of sperm that has no where to go and for some reason it goes hard in the tubes that used to carry them out and away! But then like magic - they find another way out and the lumps disappear again.
You will have minor discomfort for a few days after the procedure - then after a week all good. Also, expect to have a few nearly dead swimmers on your first test about 2 months later. Should be all clear after 3/4 months.
Definitely the best thing you can do for your marriage - and as Reefman said - your wife will love you for it. Gooi nat!

I have not had the procedure done yet and my wife suggested it. Sinse the birth of my son almost 14 years ago we tried to have another baby but it did not work out for us. We don't use any kind of birth control but the risk is there that she might fall pregnant at any time. I don't think we could handle another baby at this stage of our lives so getting the op done would be the best for both of us.

Had my nuts cracked about 8 years ago... against a lot of advice. It was a doddle but I did have a minor issue after a few days. Apparently, going Commando is not good post operative care. I haven't worn jocks since I left school, and after a day or two of zero support, I was in a fair amount of discomfort. A brief bit of googling and I dashed off and bought a pack of 3 under jocks and I was right as rain.
I have a pack of ever so slightly used jocks for sale if anyone is interested.

Had the op about 25 years back. No issues that I can remember. Chose general anesthetic because I did not want to be awake to see the doc (Dr PP Snyman)doing the necessary. (or listen to the theatre staff passing comments ……..my wife was a nurse, and just maybe one of her friends was working that day???). Just remember, you are not "safe" for about 6 months after the snip.

:hyst: :hyst: the amount of nookie I get these days may not warrant the costs. I may just spend it on a boat and at least I would be happy and have two sinkers extra. :crzy :hnthnt: :hyst:

Is it just me or is this post going pear shaped.... :creep:

Also had mine done under Anaesthetic some 30 odd years ago. As every one says mild discomfort for a couple of days and then you are good to go.
Really the preferred method as opposed to letting the women getting it done. Far too many complications with Women going through the procedure.
I was really keen to make sure everything "Works" after the Op - Just in case they snipped the Wrong Parts ................

Missus and I talked about it years ago and spoke to our GP he said 1 egg v 1000's sperm cells. The missus went in for a simple tie off, in and out in a day and I never felt a thing :happ: the missus had very little discomfort as well
A mate of mine went in and was told to give himself a shave, he is on the table with a sheet over him with his tackle exposed, the urologist was so impressed with the shave he called all the students in to show them what a shave should look like :shk

Had mine done tears ago. First the very Scottish surgeon rebuked me for giving my youngest and last son a Welsh name , when I tod him his middle name was Ross he said best I call him Ross then.Had a general anesthetic cause I didn't want to see s scalpel down there and told the surgeon I didn't want to hear him say oops.

Had mine done about 4 years ago.
Local anaesthetic. Made small talk with the doc and nurse during. Felt tugging and mild discomfort during. One side went well other side he struggled due to anatomical abnormality. Took longer and loads of bruising after. Quite painful after for about 4 days. He went back to his prof and discussed. Had to return for a second attempt about a month later. Free of charge this time. Quicker this time round with minimal bruising. I had intermittent dull pain for about a year afterward.
Did it as I don’t want my wife to take horrible contraceptives (makes her feel poorly) and we are happy with our 2 kids

Did you notice any increase in the voice frequency, maybe a pitch or two higher?

Had mine done 6 yrs ago. Played 18 holes of golf the next day without a golf cart. Non event imo but maybe i was lucky. Not as lucky as my boet who only has one but after testicular cancer. After 3 kids he had t9 have the shop. Well the Dr is a mate and gave him a script for his wife for 30 days of sports. Well she fell for it hook line and sinker. Was not amused when she found out.
