Hi Guys i need some advice on cooler boxes, how good are the new light weight compared to the original safari chillers

Not sure , although lighter durability could be an issue , im still on the original one , so cant really say .

Fibreglass coolers are prone to chips and dings... Mine is old and tatty... Been thinking about getting a smaller one (yes that's right... I don't drink quite as much as I used to)... But I'd hate to end up with something that's even less tough.

Hi. It all depends on what type fishing you do. Both are good for their purpose. I use the light weight cooler when I am fishing in areas where I need to walk longer distances. One of the disadvantages is the durability especially on rocks. Prefer my safari cooler for the normal day trips to the beach and they are easier to clean.

I'd never seen that thread... Awesome, thanks bud. Going to pimp mine cos it's a nice shape, but fails miserably at it's task of keeping beer cold.
