Howzit Chaps, I thought I would just put together a quick report back on August's fishing. I have recently moved down to Ballito so being close to the coast is paying off! After digging through many waypoints and a couple pointers I fished a couple days out of DUC and then also out of Zinkwazi where Im in the process of trying to become a member.
Out of DUC a couple days we focused mostly on Bottom fishing and managed a couple really nice fish, some notable fish were couple fantastic Natal Wrasse (all released), black tip kingie(released) and then we got some nice Bek! Areas that we fished were North off Ballito and then South around Toti. I also managed to stock up on some good Bait for the summer.
Zinkwazi was awesome and the launch did its part to try and hamper our efforts with the Sandbank mking the launch tricky! We managed to find Snoek one morning and proceeded to catch 32 of them, all but 2 were taken on very light Flick sticks with Spoons. We released half of them and kept some for the pan. We also managed to get some nice bottoms here and a couple nice Yellowfins. Thanks to the pointers and waypoints from uA!

Did the Waypoints help?
-
Hi, yes they did help.....pointed me in the right direction to start looking in certain areas!! Many thanks!!

Lekker H n C, nice fish caught there, nice Wrasse too, good to see there are some still around, we have caught 4 in the past and returned them all to the deep, think FFF last one he caught was over 10kilo and eeish they can box.

nice fishing Charles!

Nice report
Its very important to know your fish species, i caught a natal wrasse off Deep No 1 also about the same size but mine was bright orange in colour.
You can tell the species by the size of its lips

Fantastic... Thanks for the report. Some good fish there. The Wrasse is spectacular.

Thanks very much Chaps! We caught the Wrasse all off Umdloti. We also caught the Red/Orange ones and released them as well, use my down rigger for this to about 10m and they seem to swim off nice and strong. Are these also Natal Wrasse?

Awesome!
You make me excited! It looks real fun.
How difficult was it to arrange launching at the various sites.

Mal Hannes, its very easy....just give them a shout the day before. Obviously it's advisable to fish with someone that has done the beach launches first lr speak to someone local....
