So after a few years of safety inspections with no hassels, i've now had our new safety officer insisting that my drogue anchor is the incorrect size.
I've checked all the maritime notices that i have from SAMSA, but can not find any reulations governing drogue anchor sizes in relation to vessel sizes.
The SAMSA safety checklist simply mentions that the drogue or sea anchor must be of a suitable size.
I have a cobra cat 525 and the drogue anchor i have is 50cm x 35cm in size
If any of you guys have some sort of regulations on this, please post it here for me

I have not looked for any SAMSA regulation, but saw this in one of the old skipper course manuals.
1. The diameter of the large mouth should be about 85mm for every meter of the boat. ( I would assume as your boat is 5,25m it would be 6 x 85mm).
2. The length of the anchor is 1,5 times the diameter of the large mouth.
3. The small mouth diameter should be about 1/8 of thediameter of the large mouth.
would be interesting to see if this has been updated / changed

that is what my old Skippers course manual says, I have never before heard of it being checked at seaworthy?

Yip dodger, i've never had a hassel in the past.
I thought i'd just go buy a new one to keep this okkie quite, but when i saw the prices i nearly fell on my back and now will argue the point with him.
I'll go check my skippers manual, i never thought to check there.
Thanks
