Title: pendulum vs aeroground technique.
Post by: BAUMANNATOR on June 06, 2015, 08:41:26 PM
Any tournament casters out there?.
I see that a lot of casters have started to use the aeroground (X) casting technique, instead of the pendulum. Is this because of less chance for timing issues (more consistent), or is it on average further?

What's "Aeroground"? Is it the same as Off the Ground?

Edit... ok googled it... just looks like a variation of the Pendulum?? Aeroground, they just don't swing the lead back towards you before you cast?
Weird, Doesn't touch the ground at all, why on earth would they call it such a stupid name!?  duh

I stick with the grip it and rip it technique  :-)

I generally concentrate on trying not to hook any of my fellow anglers and to not let go of my rod at the last moment.

Gave myself half an answer this morning....definitely not to do with timing.....tried it and took my fingerprint off with wrong timing..LOL. Thank goodness the sea was too big to fish off the point.

This is a cast many of us aspire to achieve. I for one have not succeeded yet with a 7 or 8 oz sinker.
I have practised it with a lighter weight (4oz) on the Shimano 110H and found it to be more successful; now to get it right with a heavier weight, is easier said than done!
Here is in my opinion one of the easiest videos to follow the Pendulum cast ~ note he says 'let go once you are facing the right direction'  :hnthnt:
