After a long drive we reached our destination....Guma Lagoon camp " Situated along the banks of the largest lagoon in the Okavango Panhandle, which is located on the North Western side of the Ocavango Delta." We got there in the dark and after setting up camp we sat around the fire with a cold beverage and discussed the plans for the day ahead. We got on the water early and after a 1 hour drive weaving through the channels we got to the main piece of water. We were lucky enough to catch the barbel run and after that all hell broke loos. I landed 15 tigers on the first day. We did a little bream session in one of the calmer bays and landed 3 good 3 spot.

The second day was a bit slower but we still managed to pick up some good fish along with the biggest tiger of the trip, a 3.6kg fish!
-
On the last day the barbel run seemed to avoid us all together so we decided to trawl some lures and ended up with about 25 good tigers. All in all it was an amazing trip and I would go back there over and over and over again.

What was your most successful lure . Doing my second trip in May next year and need to stock up.
Last time the tiger wacka's didn't work at all.
Had most success on paddle tails and smaller liping lures.
-
Very nice Gavin I can bet you enjoyed that!
So much fishing to do and so little time, maybe someday I'll be blessed.

Hi Bulkcarier. The best lures were black and red crank baits, Bucktail jigs and effzets.
