Ok one of my friends brought me this saltiga 30 to be serviced and when I opened it up is had hardly no grease in and when checking the drag washers the very first washer was broken. I have asked the owner if if has ever opened the reel and assures me I'm the first one to open the reel since he bought the reel new.
Regarding the broken washer I can only assume that this could of happened due to him leaving the drag turned all the way up and storing the reel. Have any of you guys that service reels ever come across this type of drag washer breaking and the reel not having a drop of grease or oil inside.

See how clean the reel is inside

Never dealt with Saltiga washers before but if they're anything like dartanium from Shimano then looking at them too hard can crack them!
Some reels come packed chock full of grease to the extent that you can barely fish them out the box. Others come bone dry like this one seems to have been shipped.
Lesson? Always open your reel even when brand new....... or send to Reefman :creep: :creep: :creep:
