Title: The Penny knot
Post by: Ziggy on May 27, 2013, 10:01:46 AM

Peter Hayes, Australian world casting champion and is now a guide and lodge owner in Tasmania where he runs the Australian Fly Fishing Conclave. Was (is still?) on a tour of South Africa mesmerising anglers with his casting and knot tying skills,  Peter Hayes backs his Penny Knot as 100% and the best there is for tying flies onto nylon

Looks like a nice knot to me

(I got this from Tom Sutcliffe's news letter)

Hi Ziggy,

I have just come across this knot but haven't tested it yet. Looks super easy to tie with some practise. Will see how it rates on the machine.

HI Ziggy

I did a clinic with Peter earlier this year, he showed us this knot, and I have been using it since. I could say its very close to a 100% knot the tests I`ve done shows the line to break at various points and not at the knot, and for me that is a good sign.

Real easy and a strong knot.
