Ok Chaps here goes...The Vidal comp is a species comp and the way the scoring works is for every species you catch it multiplies your points.
Bill fish count as 30 point and other game fish get weighed.
First day out the wind was pumping so it was a difficult days fishing but it started very well for us..about 8am we hooked up on about A 95 - !00lb Sailfish which i we landed in about a half an hour..so that gave us our fisrt price for the comp which was for the first Bill fish released for the comp..The rest of the day wasn't so productive cause we dropped another 2 sailfish but we were off the water by 12pm due to the strong winds.
Day 2 ..We wre on the sea by 5;30am and it started off a great day with virtually no wind but that didnt last and we were on the hunt for different species ..We started of with a Yellow fin tuna of 4,70kg and just after that we hooked up a 6,8kg bonnie ..so that was our second species ..thing quietened down for a while then we had screeming reels again another Sailfish but after about 5 mins we dropped it ..all miff about that we got another on and it was a wahoo of about 7 kgs so that was great another species and that was it for the day ..
Day 3..we were really working hard trying to find more species and what a start ..we had a double up on Dorado we landed a 11kg and a 6kg so that was another species and as we were giving up hope we were on the drift and there goes the reel ..finally ..Cuta on ...what a day ..
So after all that we got the prize for the first Bill fish landed , the most species caught by a boat and second over all out of 32 boats..
So finally those coastal guys know the name Seaducer 3...
And our team Darren (mussel cracker) , Craig ( zimbi ) , George ( cyclone123) , Petrus and Divan

Darren , do you have any pics of the bay or launch area. Shag told me the bay is nice and deep but with lots of bricks to negotiate on lowtide.

Darren , do you have any pics of the bay or launch area. Shag told me the bay is nice and deep but with lots of bricks to negotiate on lowtide.
I don't..but while we were there they graded the entrance to the beach so it easy to get off the beach now...
The launch is awesome ...Greg is spot on about the low tide launch but it is still very easy cause the bricks are very visible and the bad ones are marked with buoys ...the parks board said that on the 27th they have a company coming to to fit a new pole..which is today...but there is a buoy there marking the reef but its about 15 metres back from the point..just something to keep in mind if they haven't put up the pole
-
Thanks Darren, BTW Bryant just posted that the poles are being put up tommorrow

:cgrts: Guys....and for coming second maybe next time it's the big number one :happ:

Weather wasn't great at all very bumpy, we also had a good weekend especially last day I caught my first Black marlin which we tagged and realeased, was about 80kg, great experience with 10kg line, we caught it on black and red feather.
