Nice Mark :rck" also went for a ride on Sunday to give the motors a run (that's what I call it when I don't catch anything )
Drifted live mackerel at the caissons for a few hours for YFT but there are loads of sprats and pest shad about - good to be out!!

Wow this thread has been dead.

Myself, FFF and FFF junior decided last Saturday was a good gap, but eeish this weatherman needs to go back to school because he don't know what he is doing. Supposed calm day flat seas, got on the water at 04h10 with the NE blowing 20knts which was only predicted to roll in by 14h00pm, anyway we stuck it out and the day settled nicely, then the NE again picked up around 11 then settled again, fish were not playing the game. So we were trawling two livies stopping every now again on good structure to see if we can get a nice bottom feeder for the pan, then the left rod screemed  :sreel: then off  swr then all of a sardine the right rod screemed and the game was on, anyway we opened our summer  :dor: account with a nice 9kilo queen. Ended the day with lovely fresh Dorado nuggets, like butter in the mouth  :rck"

I was on Santa Maria a few weeks ago and I kept getting stung by bluebottles... I've always associated them with cold water.
Forgive me Father for I have spinned... It's been three weeks since my last cob session.

Oddly enough, we spotted plenty Blue Bottles on Saturday all over the place.

Got a few nice fish over the Christmas week when the weather allowed us to launch. 1 x 24kg YFT and 1 x 11kg
A bad days fishing is better than sitting at home.

Nice Chris, been wondering where you have been, hows the new boat?
I fished last week and dropped two dollies in the bush, one was a 10+ methinks....a mates lightie was on the rod and it just threw the hook after about 10mins :dunno:
Any idea where the clean warm water is, I battled to find a patch at 24 a bit further south after starting off Umdloti.....the reverse current was quite strong though and I heard it has turned??

Well done Chris. Nice fish. Weather has been so bad this December we have not fished. Hoping January will be better.

New boat is awesome and light on fuel, we picked up a dorrie in the bush as well and dropped one, fished South on Sunday and the water temp varied between 23.2 and 24.6 but green. Fishing this Sunday as the club is having a social R100 in with some prizes, come launch could be fun.

I was looking at tomorrow but might change, problem with tractors/launching/space at the moment down there, have to park on the beach if you want to stay for a beer, that means removing rods/finder etc.. from your boat otherwise someone else will (bat I need to fit a front hitch for self launch, not so much for launch but for retrieval!!
