What to do- Decisions decisions
« on: March 29, 2018, 01:29:43 pm »
Its been a very dry spell as far as fishing goes since moving to CT 3 years ago (well as far as rain goes as well).
Injury also plagued me as far as running goes, but in Nov I decided 2 Oceans Ultra Marathon was a good idea for easter weekend. My brother from East London is also coming to CT so his wife can run the ultra as well.
Offers for space on boats have been rather few and far between, but as luck would have it, my brother and I have been invited to fish for the now arrived tuna on Friday. 1 Day before I have to slog out 56km on the tar.
I know I will be eina from a day on the sea especially seeing I havnt been on the sea at all for months, and put a few angry YFT in the mix and I am guaranteed to be stiff come saturday am.
Do I take the chance I am given and fish, or turn it down and run. Either way I am running, but it will determine how uncomfortable the day will be.

MMMMM

No ways can you turn down the Tuna! Especially since fishing has been so scarce... Go to it!!  :fshn:
And good luck for both!

Now is not a good time to go fishing... said nobody... EVER!!

Go catch some nice tuna... the next day you can run 1 500 m (or less!) and then go back home and attack the sashimi....

Nobody said you need to finish the marathon...

At this point, I assume that you must have trained quite hard to up fitness etc. with lots of sacrifice after work runs/ dieting etc...

Me personally, I would let the fishing trip pass.

Win the race and maybe buy a boat of your own...

Well I decided to both. Tim I took 50 and 80lb rigs. Lol. Was a slow day and birds really were a pain as were the  blue sharks. In believable how many there were. We ended up with 2. I speeded 60kg and my brother got a 91.1kg yellow cow. Pitty I never got any bt great fun out. I then ran oceans yesterday as well. 48km and my knees pa ked up. Maybe the day before on the  pay had something to do with it. Ended up under 6hrs by 50sec

Hectic . Welll done n both funny and marathon .

Will be entering next year too , lol .

There were some runny around , 37/00 going on reports and whatís app photos recieved from the guys .

Guys I know got three on Thursday , 38 / 31 and 81 kg . ( 99% of commercial boats DO not work on Good Friday )

A lot of the comms are waiting for either the snoek upcoast , or the tunny bite at home .

There was some snoek at honneklip , but itís too far for most guys . Up to 80 a man .

First big westerly , they should move down , and pop up at Lambertís bay or stompneusbaai .
