Well I arrived in Sodwana about 2 hrs ago.

Going after my second Marlin tomorrow.

I know chartering is cheating but I just want to experience that crazy power at the other end again!

Wish me luck fishermen!

So let the story continue, I see I left you guys hanging in January.

Well we only got on the water one day in January and had a hookup with a Marlin that lasted about 10 seconds.

In July we tried again but no Marlin but a few beautiful Tuna.

In the mean time my son and I bought a boat for playing on the vaal and I am towing the monstrosity to Knysna for some Gunter hunting.

It is not a fishing boat but a typical vaalie boat for cruising and skiing.

But I intend to blood the decks.

So now with black Friday approaching I want to spoil myself with a special grunter/bass rod and reel.

Any suggestions. I want to spend about 2 or 3k on a combo. What do you suggest.

So today I popped in by a little tackle shop in fountain Bleu.
I ended up with 3 new to me rods and reŽls.

All in preparation for Knysna December.

Help.

Who knows if the parks board office is open in Knysna on Saturday.

I will arrive in Knysna on Saturday lunch time but need to get a permit for my boat. I don't want to wait until Tuesday.

Hannes, they should be open on Saturday because it is the holiday season but I am not sure about their operating hours. It would be best to give them a cal and find out. Let me know if you don't come right and I'll swing past there on my way back from work.

Awesome boat by the way and have a safe trip.  :appr:

I phoned them this morning early and confirmed they are open tomorrow.

Yes we are in Graaff Reinet had small irritating dramas with covers hat did not want to stay on.

In middelburg we had a blow out on the trailer but nothing serious.

We are now in Graaff Reinet and resting.

Last bit tomorrow.

Thank you guys!

OK so Mandy was not feeling well after two days in the car and I was not in fishing mode yet so took the boat out for a solo run.

As I pass under the bridge at the quas someone shouted they want to go for a ride.

So I loaded 4 strangers and took them for a sunset cruise.

I could not believe the difference in power of the boat at the coast on Salt water.

I just touched the throttle and she was on a plane.

Did a lovely run to the heads and back and came home and braaied. After supper I did some top water spinning in the canal but no luck.

Planning to get out early to make some bait.

I think it is time for a new hobby.

Scrap booking sounds nice.

Puzzle building or Bingo or something.

Holy moly but a day on the water in this wind is tough on this office body.

This boat is not built for fishing!

The weather was hard.

Tide and wind against each other.

I loved it and hated it.
