You should be thinking in the direction of a 9ft to 11ft rod that is rate 1/4 oz to 1.5oz or as close to that as possible , with a 4500 / 5000 size reel that can hold at least 300m of 30lb braid .......

The Brand that fits your budget .

Ask yourself the following

How often am I ganna use it ?

Is spending half my fishing budget for the year on one set up , that im gonna use 10 time a year worth it ?

Is there not a good second hand available ?

What alternatives are there to the  more famous brands  :penn: :shmno: :dwa:?

Have I done enough research on the Interweb searching review on the product I have in mind

Often a Brand like S.A. very own Sensation will have what you looking for , for what you gonna use it for , at a price that justifies it only to use 10 time a year.

I'm passionate about my Berkley Air. I use it with 4k and 5k Shimis (depending on circumstances). I thought they'd been discontinued and replaced with the Venom, but I recently found some at Mias in Randburg, and at exceptionally good pricing (R1100) so I bought a spare. Man that's a lekker rod.
Forgive me Father for I have spinned... It's been three weeks since my last cob session.

Get a 9 foot Shimano Vengeance and put on proper eyes. It casts as far as an AMia and with quality guides will increase your braid life span
