What tipe of bait for different species
I`ll onle be doing some fishing from the shore for the smaller types
I`ll be fishing with a 12ft Penn rod and a Okuma NX 80 with 40lbs braid
I`ve looked up some traces but life experience is more valuable the the internet

Hi,
I am not sure where about in Scottburgh you will be fishing but my best advice would be the following.

The fish you may be targeting is Shad (Elf) in the mornings and afternoon.
Blacktails, Karenteen, Pinkies and other small fish during the day or night.

For Shad, you can visit the local tackle shop there and buy some Shad traces (2 hooks), some sinkers and fresh sardine bait.
The guy at the store will explain to you how to use it.
You can also try a single hook spoon for Shad but it is more on the costly side if you lose it to the rocks.

For the smaller size fish, you can ask the tackle shop there to help you picking the hook sizes as there are many different sizes.
you will also need sinkers, and Squid as bait as they do not come off easily. This is preferably done with a smaller rod and reel.

If you have only braid on your reel with no leader, you may want to get some as well.

The guy at the tackle shop close to the beach is very helpful.

Thank you so so much for the feedback  :rck"

I`ll be staying near the rock pool in one of the guets houses there
Can you maybe give me the name of the tackle shop where you said I`ll be able to get all the info

I just hope I will be able to catch anything to add to my bucket list :grk: :grk:
