Was there today. The concrete wall just passed the club, has water coming over it. Its the best I have seen in 8 years.

Maphelane?
Some.nice weather next week for a change. Maphelane fishing depends a lot on the south blowing due to the dirty water caused by the dredger spoil removal and dumping into the ocean. The south will move the dirty water northwards

My St Lucia friends tell of 300 mm rain since Friday  :tkx: , water from the catchment area is starting to flow in strongly  (clap) . Here is hoping this rain will assist the revival of this beautiful area .
My wife allows me to keep all the fishing tackle I can hide.

Arrived last night, lake levels dropped by about a meter as water flowed north through the narrows into the main lake. The river came very close to breaking through close to Maphelane. Phase B of the dredger spoil removal should be complete by the end of the month. We are all waiting for Isimangaliso to announce their next plan of action. There are rumours that dredging is in the pipeline, but that is just rumours at the moment. No chance yet of the mouth opening.
Snoek are on the bite and the guys are stiĺl getting nice couta as well. St Lucia is experiencing a couta run of note this year.

Nope, none from the beach yet, they were boiling much further south from past railway ledge to the Jolly, boats were getting them right in the backline yesterday in that area, good size and good numbers. Maverick left them whilst the bite was still red hot with 20 fish between 5 customers. Customers wanted to keep on fishing though. Most taken on small kingfiher sprat spoon and no 1 cuta casting spoons

Had the opportunity to fish the Vidal ledges south of the Vidal lighthouse today with Jono and Jeff Asher Wood. Some beautiful stumpies and pommies.were caught, all returned with numberplates, ie ORI tags.
Was.a.beatiful day with virtually now swell and excellent water conditions. All fish were caught on sealice with pink prawn, tied onto simple mono dangles attached to mustad tuna cicles. Worked a charm.
