We came back from Moz on Monday last week and it bucketed down all the way to The first toll. The Umfolozi didn't seem to have a lot of water from what I could see but the Tugela was pushing. Would be very interested to hear what's happening at St. Lucia.

Northern lakes have filled up dramatically from the Mzineni and Hluhluwe rivers, which are in flood.

Willie any further news from St Lucia. I'm having nightmares of the estuary bursting its banks while we are there and fishing in the Vaal dam for a week

I am afraid that the nett effect of the rains is still not enough.
The lake is still about 1.2 meters down from the highest mark achieved some months ago when even the walkway to the beach was submerged. At the time the level needed to rise another half meter or so to break through.
The large surface area of the lake means that a huge amount of water is needed to raise the levels high enough for a spillover.

Fishing from the beach is very sporadic. The guys are getting some nice pompano when the surf is down.
