UVF SALTIGA DURA SENSOR 8 + Si2
« on: May 28, 2023, 03:59:10 PM »
Trying to decide between the 35lb (pe2) at .235mm and the 42lb (pe2.5) at .26mm both on 600m spool

Fishing for edibles around 15kg from beach/ surf using Stella SW 14000 and Assasin Championship #5 casting 6oz lead plus bait with a 100lb braid leader wrapped once around spool, to avoid line break with powerful casts.

would get about 502m of 35lb aand about 454m of 42lb on the spool give or take

what would you choose.

I cant buy other lines or spools, these are my choices, one or other, no alternatives...  (b/c where i am and my immediate opportunity to get some line)

bear in mind this is Japanese line specced in pe, the breaking strain will be fairly accurate it is not like USA specs where 35lb would be about 50lb.

Hi

The trade off is distance vs abrasive resistance.
Personally I use a smaller diameter when I fish the beach and a thicker line when I'm around rocks.
